Please share with all youth ages 16-24. The City of Charlotte Mayor’s
Youth Employment Program (MYEP) is gearing up for Summer 2021. Youth
can earn $900 in 5 weeks over the Summer. The first step to join MYEP
is to attend the required Job & Career Readiness Training (JCRT), you
must register to attend, registration ends on September 30th. Please
feel free to contact Tawana Thompson, MYEP Liaison with any questions,
MYEP students on the job as a nurse, at bank of america, siemens, and

Job and Career Readiness Training Fall 2020
We are excited to kick off the new school year with you, and we have
another opportunity this Fall for you to get involved with MYEP!
In order to be eligible to participate in the 2021 MYEP, you will need
to attend one of the Job and Career Readiness Trainings this fall. In
these trainings, you’ll learn more about job readiness, interview
preparation, and other essential career skills. You’ll also have
access to LinkedIn Learning. These trainings are free and are offered
In order to participate in the Job and Career Readiness Training, you
must register by September 30.
CMS Students: School Trainings
If you are a CMS student, this training is offered to you through your
school. You can register for your school’s event here.
Non-CMS Students: Community Trainings
If you’re not a CMS student or you have a scheduling conflict on your
school’s event date, you can attend a community training. The
community trainings will occur on Nov. 7, Nov. 14 or Dec. 12. You can
register for one of these dates here.
In order to attend these trainings, you must be at least 16 years old
on or before April 15, 2021 and be enrolled as a current student or
reside in the City of Charlotte.

Training is open to all CMS Students and/or Residents on Charlotte (Age 16-24)
You must register to train, deadline is 9/3/20
Training is required to apply for MYEP
MYEP (Mayor’s Youth Employment Program)
It’s a paid 5-week Summer Work Experience from June 21, 2021- July 23, 2021
Participants are paid minimally $9.00 per hour (Some Employers pay more)
Participants will work minimally 20 hours pers week (Some Employers
provide more hours)
Turn 16 on or before April 15, 2021
Attend a Job & Career Readiness Training (JCRT)
Apply online and complete interview
Complete background screen and drug test
Accept your assigned position
